Stir-fried Garland Chrysanthemum with Minced Garlic

Garland chrysanthemum
Introduction to Garland chrysanthemum:
This vegetable or plant is also known as crown daisy chrysanthemum (Tong Hao in Chinese). It tastes a little bit weird in a good way. If they are tender when they are bought, they can be very yummy after cooking.
I believe that the supply of this vegetable is seasonal in feature because it is recently that I have found it in the supermarket located where I live.
Seen from the picture above, the stems look long and clear. However, the real stems have been cut off before I put them into the wok. (I should have cut more. But that would result in even less amount of the finished dish.) In the post tomorrow, I will introduce to you another garland chrysanthemum recipe which consists only of the stems which are from today’s ingredient.
Ingredients:
Garland Chrysanthemum: 400 g
Seasonings:
Salt: 5 g
MSG: 1 g
Garlic cloves: 50 g
Vegetable oil: 40 g
Sesame oil: 2 g
Preparation Work:
1. Rinse the garland chrysanthemum clean;
2. Mince the garlic cloves finely;
Cooking Steps:
1. Preheat the vegetable oil to 50% hot;
2. Drop the garlic mince in and go to Step 3 when the garlic smell goes off;
3. Add the main ingredient (Garland Chrysanthemum) into the wok and stir for a few strokes;
4. Stir the salt and MSG into what’s in the wok;
5. Drip a few drops of sesame oil into it. It’s ready for serving.
Cooking Tips:
This is a very simple recipe that only takes minutes to cook.
Garland Chrysanthemum blossoms when they are grown up. Their flowers are beautiful, especially when you are standing in the outer field and surrounded by them. But they cannot be eaten as a vegetable when they blossoms.

Garlic plays a very important role in this recipe, which is also the name of the dish suggests. With that being said, garlic is something that most of the Chinese Vegetarian Recipes can not do without. I grew up eating garlic cloves raw. Now I am living far away from my hometown and not eating raw garlic so often. However, when I eat dumplings and meat, I can not help wanting to have some.
You might never thought about that. How about try it now. Did you do that? LOL. You know what. Garlic can sterilize the oral cavity and help with the digestion especially of meat.
