Stir-fried Broccoli Recipe

Stir-fried Broccoli Recipe

Introduction:

When I first came across broccoli, I thought it was green cauliflower. Don’t laugh at me. Don’t you think they resemble each other?

Broccoli is beautiful though. Many cooks use them as decorations in dishes. They are often placed at the edge of the plate surrounding the main dish.

However, they can not only be used for decoration, but also be cooked as the main dish. They taste different from the cauliflower in a good way.

As far as the broccoli recipes are concerned, they can be cooked in the similar way to cauliflower recipes. Today, I am going to share a broccoli recipe that is very simple and delicious.

Ingredients:

Broccoli: 200 g (or one)

Seasonings:

Red chili peppers: 10 (fresh or dried)

Sichuan peppers: 10 seeds

Salt: 1 teaspoon

Vegetable oil: 1 tablespoon

MSG: 1/2 teaspoon

Preparation Work:

1. Wash the broccoli clean with water, break it into small flowers with hands, immerse them into the boiling water and strain them out when they are almost done (around 2 minutes);

2. Chop the red chili peppers into pieces after washing (You can keep them whole if you like. That is what I did.).

Cooking Steps:

1. Put the wok with vegetable oil on the heat;

2. Drop the Sichuan pepper seeds and the red chili pepper pieces into the wok when the oil is 70% hot;

3. Add the broccoli into the wok and stir fry it for a minute;

4. Season it with salt and MSG.

5. Stir fully before dishing it out.

Cooking Tips:

1. Putting the broccoli into the hot water is necessary if you want to shorten and simplify the stir-frying process. The hot water will soften the broccoli.

2. I would suggest that you drop the Sichuan pepper seeds into the wok first, then lower the heat and take them out of the oil before putting the chili peppers in. This way the flavor of the Sichuan peppers will be maintained while avoiding accidentally chewing them when they are served.
