Green Beans Recipes

Introduction:

Another recipe that was originated from North China is going to be presented today. I know this because it has all the characteristics of the Northern China. It’s not spicy. So don’t worry about the taste. I believe everyone will like it.

However, if you are a person who can not live without spice, then it is recommended to add some dried chili peppers. This way, it will fit into the preference of people from all over the world.

Ingredients:

Potatoes: 200 g (or two medium sized ones)

Fresh green beans: 150 g

Seasonings:

Ginger: 1 slice

Garlic clove: 1

Salt: 1/2 teaspoon

Soy sauce: 1 teaspoon

Vegetable oil: 1 tablespoon

Preparation Work:

1. Mince the ginger slice and garlic clove;

2. Peel and rinse the potatoes clean, and cut them into long strips (You can cut them along the long direction if you know what I mean) with the thickness that is similar to the green beans;

3. Remove the strings from the fresh green beans, wash them and cut them into pieces with the length that is similar to that of the potato strips;

Cooking Tips:

1. Preheat the vegetable oil in the wok;

2. Drop the minced ginger and garlic into the wok to make the wok fragrant;

3. Add the green bean pieces into the wok and stir until the green color changes;

4. Add in the potato strips and stir briefly for half a minute;

5. Add the salt, soy sauce and some water (It may or may not be able to cover what’s in the wok, depending on your own preference.) to the wok;

6. Put the lid onto the wok and stew until the potato strips and the green beans become totally softened.

7. Ready for serving.

Cooking Tips:

Actually, I don’t have much to say about the cooking itself because it’s really easy. The only thing is that it might take you about 10 minutes or more to do. But the stewing part will not require you to be around.

For several suppers of several consecutive days, I prepared this recipe because of reordering from Rachel. If we love it, I thought you will love it, too. Try it.
