Potato Slices Seasoned with Tomato Paste

Tomato Flavored Potato Slices
Introduction:
We have recommended many potato recipes before. This means that potato can be cooked in many different ways with many different ingredients. Today, the potato slices are going to be fried and seasoned with tomato paste. Let’s get right to the recipe itself because my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Ingredients:
Potatoes: 250 g (or two medium-sized ones)
Carrot: 50 g (or a half)
Cucumber: one
Seasonings:
Tomato paste: 40 g
Salt: 4 g
White sugar: 5 g
Vinegar: 15 g (I would rather not use it after trying this recipe myself because the tomato paste would be sour enough.)
Peanut oil: 3 tablespoons
Starch: 1 teaspoon
Preparation Work:
1. Peel the potatoes, rinse them clean with water, and cut them into slices that are 2-3 millimeter thick;
2. Peel, wash and dice the carrot;
3. Wash the cucumber clean and dice it into a size that is similar to those of the carrots;
Cooking Steps:
1. Pour the peanut oil into the wok and put the wok on high heat;
2. Turn to medium heat when the oil gets hot;
3. Slide the potato slices into the oil for deep-frying one by one or double by double (which depends on how many the oil can handle.);
4. Take each potato slice out when it becomes gold in color on both sides;
5. Leave the oil back in the wok when the deep-frying process is finished;
6. Turn to high heat again;
7. Pour the tomato paste into the wok and stir with a spatula;
8. Add in the white sugar, vinegar, salt and 1/4 cup of water into the wok immediately, and stir quickly;
9. Drop the carrot dices into the wok and stir fry until the dices get softened;
10. Add in the cucumber dices and the deep fried potato slices, and stir until they are mixed fully with the tomato paste;
11. Thicken the soup with melted starch (a mixture of water and starch) before dishing out.
Cooking Tips:
1. Tomato paste is good for men. So I highly recommend that you should prepare this dish for your husband or boyfriend. If you are a men, then you should try this recipe out.
2. However, if you are someone who doesn’t like sourness. Then this might be not for you.
