Chinese Cabbage Recipe – Hybrid

Hybrid Chinese Cabbage Recipe

Seen from the picture above, this dish is the combination of the Ma La Chinese Cabbage Recipe and the Sweet and Sour Chinese Cabbage recipe that we displayed previously.

As you can see, I used the same preparation method (the Chinese cabbage is ripped into pieces by hand) of the Chinese cabbage with that of the sweet and sour Chinese cabbage recipe, but the same ingredients, seasonings, and cooking steps with those used in the Ma La Chinese cabbage dish. You might ask: does shape really matter?

To be honest, the shape does matter when it comes to cooking vegetables. In this recipe, I only changed the shape but when I ate it I tasted the difference. It is different from both the Ma La and Sweet & Sour Chinese cabbage recipes. Why? I don’t know exactly.

But I guess that the change of the shape will result in the variation of the surface which contact and is influenced by the seasonings and other ingredients. When the Chinese cabbage is ripped by hand, the surface of each piece should be larger than that of the pieces cut with a knife. So more of the seasonings would be absorbed is absorbed into the vegetable which tastes heavier.

As I always said, we should always try to add our personal touch to the recipes. This way, we can come up with unique and special dishes featured with our own characteristics.

That is to say, any recipes that are provide to you or you have found through any possible ways should only play a basic role of foundation from which you build your own.

And another thing that is also very important is that you should always try to put your passion into all the dishes that you cook. When you are not happy and unwilling to cook, a depression will be tasted when people eat them. On the contrary, people can taste your happiness in what you have cooked with passion, no matter you have done it by following this Chinese cabbage recipe or any other recipes.

So if you are cooking for your beloved ones, fill your cooking with love.

In conclusion, a little change or tweak made to one recipe can give you a big surprise sometimes. You can play your creativity to any limit you want. And involve your heart to your cooking, people will know.
